We are a mother and daughter team from Perth, Australia, who love all things crafty. We spend our time sewing, baking, and dabbling in a wide range of crafts including: sewing, quilting, paper crafts, jewellery making, embroidery, crochet, knitting, and DIY. We aim to put some creativity into the everyday. We love to share our latest projects and offer many free tutorials, creative projects, and delicious recipes.
Lisa works by day as an occupational therapist (part time), and spends her free time working on her latest creative project – be it sewing, quilting, paper crafting, crochet or more. Sarah is a high school student and part time sales assistant, who is passionate about baking, and enjoys graphic design and sewing.
We started A Spoonful of Sugar back in Feb 2008 as we wanted to record our crafting and baking adventures. We love spending time working on projects together in our kitchen and craft room. Our site has grown in popularity over the years and we now have a large and loyal following of readers. What makes our site unique from many other craft blogs, is that we cover a wide range of crafts and DIY projects, and love to provide lots of original inspiring ideas, many of which are suitable for children, teens and beginner crafters. We share many free tutorials, featuring lots of step by step photos, on our blog. These tutorials are linked to by many other high profile sites and are responsible for generating a lot of new traffic and increasing our readership base.
